Sustainable development goals

ROTO wants to contribute to the achievement of the 17 sustainable development goals formulated by the United Nations. The challenge is to implement these goals, which are formulated in very general terms, as specific actions, with the objectives preferably being formulated in SMART ways. Many organisations and companies are struggling with this and, for the time being, it is a question of looking for the best ways to put the objectives into practice.

In 2020, all the Business Units will be engaging in action in the context of these development goals, for example by monitoring energy consumption, focusing on a safe working environment, a mobility plan for employees, using sustainable materials for packaging, encouraging continuous education, working on noise reduction and looking further at ways of reducing the burden on production workers.

  • women's projects worldwide: Mama Cash
  • activities for ill children and their families: Opkikker Foundation
  • activities for children with special needs: Lilianefonds, NSGK, Stichting vrienden MEE, Woongroep Uitgeest
